A week before our second beerstival we were unsure: will there be rain or not? Following the very rainy Summer weather we have already drafted emails (well, at least in our minds) to send out to all our visitors about cancelling. However! Just like a miracle the skies have cleared and so we have been able to toast the second beerstival that glorious sunny September 18 2014.

An upgrade from last year when we showcased solely Slovenian craftbreweries and Slovenian snacks were lectures on DIY craftbeer and travelling through Belgium with beer from Jure Vešligaj and Jernej Vre?ar (>>Homebrew lovers association). We cheered with craftbrewers >>Pelicon, >>Human Fish and >>Bevog, nibbled on >>Klobasarna’s delights and learned much from Jure and Jernej. Despite some technical problems (we express our greatest regrets) >>STA travel cafe and us organised a wonderful early fall happening, right there on the terrace above the city, and it was long before the beer had stopped pampering our tastebuds.

We had a great experience doing the craft beer walking tour. Iva was very enthusiast and had many knowledge about the city, the history and the local companies.We visited three different places to drink some nice local beers in different styles and taste some nice small dishes.A must do if you want have more information of nice places to drink and eat and to learn something about the city.

My friend and I went on the “Christmas market delights” version of the food tour and had the best time. Our guide was extremely personable and fun to chat with and took us to 5 different places in town to try the local food and wine, the first two of which were Christmas market stalls. This was our first time to Ljubljana and Slovenia so the tour was a great way to help us get our bearings in the city and learn about Slovenian food and wine. We enjoyed all of our stops so much that we went back to two of them later in the trip and sought out one of the dishes in Bled the next day! This tour totally enhanced our Ljubljana experience and I would highly recommend it.

A unique experience of local tastes and culture. Thanks to the very sympathetic Iva who was our guide and limited group (6 people), we made a culinary journey through Slovenia in a few hours. Iva has a great knowledge of the products and the history of the country. She also involved everyone in the conversations, which soon made you feel like you were exploring with friends.Our best tour guide experience ever. Greetings from Belgium

Our guide Inka provided us with a great introduction to the food and wines of Slovenia and to the old city area of Ljubljana. We had a wide selection of food and wine at four different bar/restaurants. Inka was good company and we had some interesting discussions with her about life in Slovenia. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had a group of 7 for a private food and wine/beer tour and later added three more with no problem, very easy process. Working with the staff to schedule the tour was very simple and they were very informative. The tour itself was above and beyond what we expected. It is a must to show up hungry! All the food we tried was amazing and there was plenty of it. The option to have craft beer at some stops instead of wine ensured that everyone was able to have what they wanted. Beyond the amazing food and wine was our guide Iva. She made this tour even more incredible. Friendly, fun and extremely knowledgeable of the culture and history. Our time in Ljubljana would not have been the same without this experience. Do not miss out!

We were delighted by our recent food tour in Ljubljana. Our guide Alenka was knowledgeable and friendly. We stopped at a number of restaurants and sample so many different foods and wines! We learned about the different regions and history of food in Slovenia. The best part was the great tips and insights that Alenka gave us that helped shape the rest of stay in Slovenia. The tour was well worth the coast and truly the best way to start our visit. We can't wait to go back and do another one!

We did our food tour with Iva who was absolutely fantastic! We are massive foodies and enjoyed eating both the modern and traditional culinary dishes of Slovenia. Iva also provided a brief historical overview of Slovenia, which was very informative and interesting. We would recommend this tour for any foodies visiting Ljubljana!

Learning about a city through its food is a great way to lesrn the culture of its people. I normally do not write reviews however this is the BEST food tour I have taken. The company accommodated me in my dietary request not to have any pork products and offered great local alternatives. Not only did we have great food but we also had a great tour of the beautiful city of Ljubljana and learned about its people and historical monuments. The tour goes to local great restaurants and cafe—not “touristy” —the places the locals eat. We were offered the food the locals eat and not the mass priduced food at the overpriced tourist traps which are not even tasty. The price of the tour is great considering how much food we received. We ate the best food, drank great coffee and wine, and had a fabulous desert. Small group made it easy to get to know one another and enjoy a meal as if amongst friends. Do not wait just book this food tour!!!

If you're looking to try a variety of traditional Slovenian foods, ingredients and wines this is the tour for you. I found this tour to have just the right amount of food based on the time spent. Everything was very delicious. I enjoyed the format which took us on a regional tour of Slovenia, allowing us to try treats from all around the country (which is very diverse, despite the small size of Slovenia!) Meta was the perfect host and shared lots of interesting information with us along the way.

We had a wonderful food tour with Iva. We learned all about the diversity and history of Slovenian cuisine. Iva provides you with a great tour and she can make adjustments for allergens or foods you dont like. We found the hand selected dishes at numerous restaurants to be wonderful though. By the end of the tour my wife and I had learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We highly recommend you take this tour.

I do a food tour in almost every city I visit and this was one of the best I’ve done. The food was high quality, we had a very diverse selection and we got to try dishes that I wouldn’t ever think to order on my own. Our guide, Iva, was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I would highly recommend this small, personal tour. Worth the money for sure.

This was a outstanding and personalized experience, with a great variety of foods and drinks around central Ljubljana. I was not quite sure what to expect, but the 3.5 hours flew by with continuous sampling of savory and sweet foods, as well as a variety of drinks from coffee to beer to wine to blueberry liquor and other choices of non-alcoholic beverages. The amount of walking, movement around the city, local information, and balance of traditional Slovenian food through a modernized lens was a highlight of my trip. Iva did an excellent job explaining the regional origins of the foods and their role in modern Slovenian life. It is clear that this organization/tour is all about the local flavors and local partnerships. It was great to see the genuine connections, and passion that Iva has for Ljubljana and its cuisine.

Wow wow wow, my boyf and I cannot rate this tour highly enough. It’s a must do in Ljubljana and good to do it on your first day as you’ll learn a lot about the city as you walk around. Iva, the company founder was our guide and from the first moment we met I knew we would all have fun. She is extremely passionate about her country and its food, and was very knowledgeable about everything. All our questions were answered. Each stop was of the highest quality with top notch food and attentive staff, you really get the feeling you are getting in on the local treasures and cuisines. I’d never had beef tongue for breakfast till today... but I’m told the stops and dishes change all the time according to the season and produce available. We were full by the end and feel like we have discovered new tastes, a new culture and new places we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. No more than 6 in each group means it’s personal and different to the other group tours, you don’t feel like a sheep. You feel welcomed and involved at all times. I wish every city had a tour like this. Thank you Iva and Ljubljana Yum, we will be recommending you to everyone.

Ljubljana's specialist for anything food or drinks related! If you want to know where to go for the best coffee, gelato, beer, wine, hot choclate, pizza etc. they have the answer. If you are a foreigner dont skip their foodwalk, it is a must!

We booked a walking food tour for the first day of our stay in Ljubljana and it was a perfect way to be introduced to Ljubljana and Slovenia! We are both vegetarians but we did not feel that we missed out on trying traditional Slovenian food in any way. There is no shortage of food on this tour and everything was paced perfectly! Our guide Alenka was absolutely lovely, a great guide and very knowledgeable about Slovenian food as well as the wine and craft beer scene. She also gave us lots of extra sightseeing tips for our other days in Slovenia as well as recommending some great places to eat that are veggie friendly. We could tell that she really loves what she does and she is a great asset to the team. We really enjoyed our tour and we just want to thank Alenka and the whole team at Ljublananjam for an excellent time and a job well done :) We absolutely recommend Ljubljananjam to anyone coming to Ljubljana and we will definitely try a different tour that they offer when we return to this beautiful country :)

If I could give my experience on this tour 6 stars I absolutely would. My husband and I had the best time on this food tour and it was the highlight of our time in Ljubljana. Our guide Alenka was lovely, she never rushed us (even though she went an hour over time), she was very knowledgeable and she took us to some really great places. If coming to Ljubljana, this tour is an absolute must do.

Our Ljubljana food tour was a highlight of our visit to Slovenia. The food was amazing--even my picky-eater husband loved the food and experience. Our guide, Alenka, was a delight--so knowledgeable about the food, culture, and history, and just a lovely person to spend an evening with. We also enjoyed getting to meet other visitors who were on the tour with us (4 of us in total). This was such a fun and unique experience, and I highly recommend it if you find yourself in Ljubljana!

On our essentials food tour we had a really nice tour of Ljubljana's old town with a nice overview over Slovenias cuisine and food. Iva was really knowledgeable about every topic we asked her which included not only food. The groups are very small (intentionally) which contributed to this very nice experience. Of course we had awesome food as well such as oxtail gnocchi, but Iva adjusts the experience to everyone's preferences. I can warmly recommend this tour

This food tour was the highlight of our stay in Ljubljana! We are two foodies from Seattle, and experiencing food culture is one of our favorite travel activities. Awesome food and stories about the city and Slovenian food culture, excellent wine. Our guide was so friendly and hung out chatting with us for a while after, and gave us some stellar recommendations for where to eat on the rest of our trip! I can't recommend this enough!

We took the Essentials tour with Iva as our tourguide. Iva prepared a lovely route through Ljubljana and led us to several spots serving traditional and trendy Slovenian cuisine. We were an international group of 6 adults and it was no problem to bring our infant daughter with a stroller (thank you!). Iva took great care of us and always found the right time to move on to the next place. We were delighted to meet her and take the tour. We will definitely join her again when we revisit Ljubljana.A great way to get to know the city and its excellent tastes!

We made the Craft Beer Walk on June 2017 and it was really great. We discover some places that we would not have known without the tour and met some peoples very interested about craft beer in Slovenia. Finally, the guide was very nice and took the time to discuss with us.
